This is my first Christmas season in my own apartment, though I find that I’m hardly alone.
It has been a bit lonely from time to time. When I got my tree and it tipped over within an hour of being set up forcing me into the position of fixing it myself with no help, it was very clear how alone I am in this apartment. I got down for a bit at that point. In spite of that, I have been surrounded by people and good natured folk too much to notice or care that my apartment houses only me. In fact, it’s been nice to have a place entirely to myself in which I can retreat from the hurried pace of Christmas shopping, parties, and events to stop, breath, and ponder the season that is happening around me in so many different ways.
