Let’s see if this works.
Halo 3 is coming out in September and fan speculation and anticipation is running rampant. Trailers are being released slowly. Content as to what the single and multi-player aspects will be like are few and far between. The game is definitely coming, but information about it isn’t. What has been released so far is tantalizingly sparse leaving more speculation, but little or no ground for good ideas as to what exactly is coming.
Enter a great little article about the build up, the lack of information, and easily the best way to market something that doesn’t need to be hyped up to sell well.
Take music from The Fray, a console war, and people with too much time on their hands. Mix together and you get something funny enough that non-gamers probably get this.
One of the best games ever created was just released on the Nintendo Virtual Console for download on the Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Who got it first?
Europe.
?
Here’s hoping this means the US will see this in the queue on Monday.
UPDATE: Looks like Monday will be the day I get this game.
An article over at Joystiq begs the question: is it better to wait until Christmas to release “killer app” games for a video game system to boost holiday sales but lose interest in the until then? Or do you release your best games as they are completed in order to satisfy your customer base and early adopters, but maybe not get as big a kick in the Q4 profit margin?
I vote for keeping the customer base happy, but I’m an earlier adopter than most of the people I know (or one of the only adopters when it comes to some video games).
What do you think?
No, not that kind of fantasy. The Final Fantasy kind of fantasy. The kind geeks like (wait, they like the other kind of fantasy, too…).
Mark Leung, who seems to have played enough Final Fantasy to have majored in the topic, has turned college into a real-life version of a Final Fantasy game. If you’ve ever played any of these games, you’ll appreciate the inside jokes, the music, and the absurd theme.
If you’ve never played, well, you won’t find this at all funny and might be scared that there are people in the world who do. And that I’m one of them.
UPDATE: This isn’t safe for work.
[via Joystiq, where you can find parts two, three, and four as well]
My favorite part: the Christian (named Jesús) who is a magic user.
I didn’t drool at this one, but I’m thinking about the theater system at my church…
I’m posting this from my Wii!
They have just released a trial version of the Opera web browser to use and it looks very nice.
I don’t expect that I will post much from here, but it’s pretty cool.
