In the neverending quest to get a better shave, Lifehacker has posted three videos about traditional wetshaving.  While I probably technically wetshave myself every other day or so and some earlier tips have helped improve the business of shaving in the Yocum Household of Redlands, it could be better and more comfortable.  If I can get up to shaving once a day without pain, it will be a good day.

Besides, are there any women in the world that aren’t a sucker for their man shaving in the bathroom in a Paul Newman kind of way?  I’m still working on finding a woman that will call me her man, but the shaving bit should bit a hell of a lot easier.

Know you’re going to a place that you’ll want to leave without being baltantly rude? Lifehacker has a fun tip for doing just that by scheduling a call to your cell phone.

Also good for looking more important than you are and/or fulfilling a need to use your cell phone more often and justify paying a little extra for those minutes. In a pointless and sad kind of way, at least.

Lifehacker has a good tip (as usual) for getting rid of scratches on your DVDs.

I wonder if the small bit of Old English I have left will do the same trick? Do I want to risk a DVD on this? Then again, the scratched DVDs come in the mail and I have no problem testig on those…

This is cool.

But no one told me the metal tip clips I’ve been using are out of fashion. Have I been walking around with spinach stuck to me teeth, too?

Probably not. I hate spinach.

Joe’s Goals (also found via Lifehacker) is a nice little tool that you can use to help keep track of when you are doing things you want to do and when you are doing things you don’t want to do. While it relies almost entirely on personal integrity to work, people seeking to improve themselves are generally willing to be honest with themselves.

Among my goals: write a blog entry, walk to work, don’t eat out more than I had planned, and stay calm in stressful situations.

I read many blogs each day. Probably around 100 or so right now. I enjoy many more than the others, but all have information that is useful to me and I often learn about things long before traditional news sources are reporting about them (if they ever do). Lately, one blog has stood out from the rest and I look forward to new content from them more so than many others.

Lifehacker is full of regularly posted tips not just for cool and useful Firefox Extensions, but also sage advice for life in general. For instance, a recent post about getting the best shave included wonderful tips that have both improved my shave as well as decreased minor skin irritation (it took a couple of shaves for the tips to show an effect, though). Another entry gives tips for hiding those stray cables behind your entertainment center or desk (admittedly, I haven’t read this to conclusion yet, but will later this evening and see what I can use for my apartment).

Sign up for it in your favorite news aggregator or visit often. It’s worth the trip and there’s always something new to read.

UPDATE: The cordless workspace was great, but I’d like to know if there are similar tips for entertainment centers that can have more of a variable vertical component than a desktop computer set up. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on the Lifehacker site, so maybe this will do the Trackback. :)
