Every once in a while, iTunes will tell me that it didn’t load any purchased music to my iPod because my computer wasn’t authorized to play it. All purchased music is then removed from my iPod until I try to play one of the purchased songs. When I do that, I’m asked to login to the iTunes Music Store, which then re-authorizes my computer and allows me to load purchased music back onto my iPod.

Is anyone else forced to login to the iTunes Music Store every so often like this? I don’t use the music store very often at all and I can see where they’d at least like me to ping them once in a while. But it’s pretty annoying.

Not really since we’re Apple users and constantly connected. It likes talking with Apples I guess.

  1. Hmm…my computer is constantly connected as well (so long as it is on). I start up iTunes once a day, too. Is it an anti-PC thing, maybe?

At least it didn’t kill my music altogether. That would have really sucked. :|

  2. Nope, it never does that to me so it can’t be a PC hater thing. Then again, I usually peruse iTunes at least once a week to see if the free downloads are worhtwhile.

  3. It may just be that if you don’t hit the music store every so often, it assumes the computer is dead and thus de-authorizes it. This should really be attached to how often iTunes starts up or an iPod syncs or some other more expected activity, but there you are.

I’ll have to do some poking around and see what this is. Now it’s bothering me that I don’t know. ;)

  4. I just got my 2000t and all of my songs are skipping in iTunes, and I cant figure out why. If someone could help me out and tell me how to fix this I would really appreciate it because its driving me crazy. Thanks for the replys.
