That isn’t much of a control, though. Different volume of liquid, for one thing. And they changed the Mentos by chewing them first. Still, very cool, even after the many times of having seen this done over and over and over and over and over and over and over…..

I’ve seen video though where they used Diet Pepsi and still got the reaction. Plus their controls aren’t the best since they changed three different aspects of the experiment (volume, kind of liquid, dryness of mentos) but that’s just the scientist in me.
Hmm…maybe diet sodas and Mentos have the same hate/hate relationship that I have with diet sodas…
This just means that we need to get some Diet Pepsi, Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Sprite, etc. and do some testing.
