I’m a busy guy and I have a life. During any given week, I tend to be out of the apartment at something at least half of the seven evenings available to me. This is almost always fun stuff with wonderful people and I enjoy it. It leaves me with rather empty time every other night. I’m good at taking time to relax and do things that I enjoy. Lately, though, I’ve been sitting in front of the TV more than I’d prefer (yes, it’s my own fault) during the off time.

So, I’m looking for a project to do. Probably short-term, but I’d consider something longer if it was fun. The problem is that I have no idea what to do. So I turn to the few, the proud, my loyal readers.

What kind of projects/hobbies are you doing? Do you have any ideas for me to ponder? Better still, do you have ideas for group hobbies that you’ve been wanting to explore? Share them in the comments section and maybe we’ll get a ball rolling. And be creative. :)

  1. Hmmm . . .
Well I tend to crochet, paint, or do puzzle and things (my latest addiction is Sudoku). You could always work on putting together your photos into albums, or learning how to cook some interesting dishes. You have Food Network and hey have interesting tips on how to learn new techniques. You can get some interesting ideas from some cable networks on little things to put together or do.

  2. I’ve enjoyed Sudoku when I’ve played, but haven’t found a program that’s reliable to play with (I like to download them rather than continue visiting web sites). The cooking idea is good (Trader Joe’s has been inspiring me lately), so I may take that one up.

Other suggestions I’ve received off line include labeling my apartment items with their names in foreign languages, downloading podcasts to my iPod that help me learn languages (I’ve found Spanish, Italian, and French so far in iTunes), and sand art (which I know nothing about, but am betting it involves taking a trip to the beach).

What else is there to do in the world?
